Do you run all 5 Swords of X and Y in equipment voltron?

Main Post:

Feast and Famine, Fire and Ice are auto includes for me. Light and Shadow is good in specific builds. Body and Mind, War and Peace seem just lackluster in such a big formats. Other opinions, anyone who runs all 5 for fun?

Top Comment:

No, the green/blue one is just, bad to run in EDH. To many people can abuse their graveyard and getting a 2/2, +2/+2 and pro green (not really relevant) and pro blue (barely relevant) is not worth giving someone 10 cards of extra fuel.

War and Peace is good for the extra STP/Path protection and getting around big dumb angels and dragons, I like it.

How to use X-1 AP equipment (BAP) effectively?

Main Post:

This device seems rather underpowered/ineffective. Or at least, it is only useful in a handful of situations.

The main problem is that it only works within a 250m? radius, and at that range, you can probably see, target, and have good % to hit the enemy anyway, and they can do the same to you. At that point, you're almost certainly going to want to focus your lance's fire on one opponent to bring them down as quickly as possible, so the advantage of also sensor locking every other enemy within that range is dubious, and if you're ever surrounded by several enemies you're probably screwed anyway.

The only time I can ever see this being potentially useful is during base or convoy defense missions, where you have many more units on your side, and in range, that could take advantage of the extra sensor locks.

In any other situation, I feel like I'd much rather just take a pilot with the sensor lock ability, which costs no heat (X-1 BAP costs 50 heat, which can prevent a hot mech from cooling down), and doesn't take up 6 tons and 4 slots on your mech, and doesn't go on cooldown for 4 turns after use. You could argue that 'oh, this basically gives an extra ability to a pilot that doesn't have sensor lock', but since it still counts as an action and ends that pilot's turn, they don't get to use those abilities on that turn anyway, nor probably on the next turn because this thing generates two heavy weapons' worth of heat, and its inclusion means you're probably not mounting as many heat sinks as you should.

And so, it seems like what you're doing is making a dedicated mech that specializes in 'defend something while you have extra friendlies to help you, which you may or may not know ahead of time' missions.

Anyone have any ideas, or do I basically have the right of it? Information on this thing, and its ECM counterpart, seems to be a bit scarce.

Top Comment:

Simple, you wait until the dev team advances the timeline to 3045 and field the mass produced versions. Then you can mount 1.5ton 2crit probes and guardian ecm on any mech you want to turn into an ECW machine.

Question on equipment requirements for inferno max size

Main Post:

I have sets of dumbbells ranging from 10 to 75 pounds along with an adjustable bench. I know there are supposed to be some workout alternatives for those without access to a barbell, but can you still utilize the max size with heavy dumbbells or are barbells pretty much a requirement?

If I have a barbell, dumbbells, and a bench, would that satisfy all of the equipment requirements of the max size program, or would I need more and just fork up the money for a gym membership?

EDIT

Obviously if I get a barbell I'd have a squat stand with a pull up bar to go along with it.

DOUBLE EDIT

thread resolved. I'm buying a power rack with a lat pulldown attachment and pull-up bar along with an olympic barbell and bumper weights, time to get serious bois, wish me luck!

Top Comment:

It’s ok you can replace the barbell with the dumbbells.

If you checked the program on the wesbite go straight to the bottom of the page you will find FAQ and there this one where “what equipment do i need” the website itself says that its ok to replace the barbell with the dumbbells.

Gantz equipment: X-gun vs Y-gun?

Main Post:

Which one is stronger? According to the Gantz movie, the X-gun only has a range of 10 meters, which is pretty bad, and the blast is delayed. But the Y-gun wires can be pulled apart. The Y-gun is almost a certain death if it works, and it works much more reliably since as soon as you pull both triggers, the wires shoot out. The X-gun has a time delay but when you master it, it has more applications than just killing/faxing. Being able to make an explosion is good for busting through doors, the invisible energy is harder to dodge if the enemy doesn't know how it works, and it's got stopping power. Hard to say.

Top Comment: The Y Gun is OP for weaker enemies but if the aliens are anything like the bosses from Osaka then it's useless since they just snap the wires

astria ascending. xbox series x. new patch bugged out game.

Main Post:

todays patch bugged out all equipment in the game. the one i had on me or in inventory and the new one i get from chests. if i go into item menu i see the stats (like +120 str, +21 mag) but when equipped no stats are added to the character. so basically u play without armour, weapon, helmet or shield.

edit. i can see on pc/steam (ppl with xbox gamepass) there are same reports of this gamebrake issue

edit2: reinstaling the game doesn't work.

Top Comment:

Same is happening to me. Shops show the proper stat value changes when purchasing new equipment but stats do not change when equipping items and it seems like their values are not being calculated in combat.

Weapon Color Guide for Ragnarok X: Next Generation

Weapon Color Guide for Ragnarok X: Next Generation

White, blue, or gold equipment? Which one should I choose?

Hi guys, welcome to another Grawrz Guide! In this guide we'll talk about the 3 equipment colors in Ragnarok X: Next Generation. The color I’m mentioning is not the color of the sprite, but the color of the item name or the border the item has. In RoX, we have White, Blue and Gold. Each has their pros and cons, and the purpose of this guide is to help you choose which one is for you!

In this guide we'll talk about acquisition of the equipment, what makes them unique, how to make the equipment stronger, their pros and cons and my recommendation.

Let's begin with the White equipment!

How do I get White Equipment?

White equipment is the most common type of item in the game. They are given as rewards in Instances, with their levels corresponding to the instance. Golden Thief Bug equipment is lvl 25, Corsair equipment is lvl 40, Osiris equipment is lvl 50 and so on. Weapons can only drop in the Hard mode instances so if you are targeting weapons, make sure you're in the right difficulty level!

What makes White equipment unique?

White equipment has the lowest stats out of the three categories, but they have the most variety of Set Bonuses; with each dungeon instance having their own theme. The GTB set gives out damage reflect, the Corsair Set gives bonus damage once the target has reached a certain HP threshold, the Osiris set poisons enemies around the user, and so on. Using equipment from the same set will increase the effect. For example, the reflect damage from the GTB set is 5% for having 3 pieces equipped, then increases to 7.5% reflect with 6 pieces equipped, and goes up to 10% reflect damage with all 8 slots filled with GTB equipment.

These set bonuses can somewhat close the gap between White equipment and Blue/Gold. For example, the final damage bonus from the Corsair set is very effective when the target reaches a certain HP threshold, this is a passive that is not provided by Blue or Gold equipment. The poison damage from the Osiris set is a nice way to get poison damage for non-thief classes. While it’s not great for instances or farming, it’s a great tool for PvP.

There are also some specific items that have unique stats that are not found in Blue equipment and the alternative would be Gold equipment which is very hard/expensive to acquire. For example, the only way to get PATK% or MATK% refine bonus for the offhand slot is to use the lvl 50 White shield. There is no Blue or Gold offhand that gives that as it’s refine bonus. Most players opt to use White accessories/talismans because it’s the only economical way to get a specific stat. For example, the lvl 25 Autumn Talisman is the only affordable way to get Haste on the talisman slot. The alternative is to get the Gold equipment Viridian Phantom Pearl (500k diamonds on my server as of this writing) or the Lobster Dance Status (484k diamonds as of this writing). They are excessively expensive and not many people are willing to spend IRL money for them.

How do I make White Equipment stronger? What is Equipment Upgrading?

(NOTE: different from Upgrading at Hollgrehen!)

The biggest advantage of White Equipment is that if you really like a set bonus, you can do Equipment Upgrades on them to keep up in stats with equipment of the next level. You can literally wear lvl 25 GTB equipment for your whole RoX career if you wanted to as long as you keep doing Equipment Upgrading.

Upgrading a GTB weapon to Tier I will give it the same stats as a Tier 0 lvl 40 weapon from the Corsair Dungeon. Upgrading a GTB weapon to Tier II will give it the same stats as a Tier 0 lvl 50 weapon from the Osiris Dungeon.

GTB Tier I = Corsair (no Tier)

GTB Tier II = Corsair Tier I = Osiris (no Tier)

GTB Tier III = Corsair Tier II = Osiris Tier I = Strouf (no Tier)

And so on

To do Equipment Upgrades, you would need to talk to the Upgrade NPC in the corresponding city. The GTB set is upgraded in Prontera, Corsair set in Izlude, Osiris in Morroc, and so on. You would also need materials, which can be gained from the various Life Skills in the game. The higher the upgrade tier, the more expensive the materials become.

What are the Pros and Cons of White Equipment?

Since White Equipment is the most common, it's the cheapest to acquire. If you're patient enough you can even get the item type you want as a reward from instances without having to buy them. They also have the lowest refining cost out of all the Equipment colors.

And lastly, the Con of using White Equipment is they offer the lowest amount of refine bonus. This is the drawback of being the cheapest equipment to refine.

When should I pick White Equipment?

If you're playing as F2P, White Equipment is good enough. As long as you keep up with your Equipment Upgrades and the Upgrades from Hollgrehenn, you can complete most of the content in the game. However, don't expect to be topping any DPS charts or competing for MVP damage.

Alternatively, another strategy I've seen some players do is to stick to White Equipment until they can save up enough diamonds to buy Gold equipment. This is a LONG TERM strategy, possibly spanning 3-4+ months depending on the server price and item availability of the target equipment. Do this ONLY if you're sure you like the game enough to be playing that long!

Summary

If you’re using White equipment, you won’t be able to compete with a whale player that is fully decked out in Gold equipment and has enough refines/upgrades to solo kill a boss. It’s like competing against an excavator with a shovel. But if you’re only after having fun with the game and completing content appropriate for your level without spending cash, it’s perfectly viable.

That's it for White Equipment, let's move on to the next one!

How do I get Blue Equipment?

Blue Equipment is acquired through Equipment Crafting. Each dungeon instance drops materials that are needed for Blue Equipment. The hardest to acquire for these are the weapon mats, because a lot of players use Blue weapons. The Blue weapon materials are always in demand so you will need to Pre-Order them from other players which takes time.

What makes Blue Equipment unique?

Blue Equipment has 3 fixed Set Bonuses, but each time you upgrade to the next set, the bonus increases. For example, for the Adventurer set (built from GTB materials), you will get Ferocity Lvl 1. Upgrading to the Veteran set (built from Corsair materials) will give you Ferocity Lvl 2, and so on. Using six pieces of Blue equipment gives the Payback set bonus, and lastly, using eight pieces gives the Giant’s Bane set bonus which gives increased damage to MVPs and Minis.

The Ferocity passive is great for farming since it gives you a sizable damage boost for every kill. This is not as effective in MVPing, but that’s what the Giant’s Bane set bonus is for. I haven’t done much testing with Payback so I can’t comment on it, but theoretically, it’s great to debuff Instance bosses and other players in PvP.

How do I make Blue Equipment Stronger?

Blue equipment can grow to the next level by gathering materials from the next dungeon instance. For example, to upgrade the lvl 25 Blue equipment from the GTB dungeon, you will need materials from the Corsair Instance. Then to upgrade Corsair equipment, you will need mats from the Osiris dungeon, and so on.

It becomes increasingly difficult to get the materials needed for upgrades. For example, the 1handed axe weapon needs 20 weapon mats from the GTB dungeon instance. To upgrade to the lvl 40 version, you will need 40 mats. And then to upgrade that, you will need 100 pieces next. Needless to say, this is a lot more expensive to improve as you go higher up. Prices will go down eventually after a few months, but expect them to always be in demand while players need them for upgrades.

Upgrading to the next set will remove pieces for the previous equipment’s set bonus, so make sure that you’re ok with moving up or, better yet, upgrade all your equipment in one go so you can keep the set bonuses. Also, Blue items build on top of each other. They us the current level equipment as material for the next one. This means that if you want to use Blue equipment, you have to start from the lvl 25 version and go up from there. You *can* cut in the middle of this process if you use the Equipment Gacha, but getting the exact item you need from there is incredibly difficult unless you have good luck with gacha.

What are the pros and cons of using Blue equipment?

The biggest advantage of using Blue equipment is that it gives 1.5x more effect per refine over White equipment. A White 1h Axe gives +8% atk per refine, and a Blue 1h Axe gives +12% per refine. This means that a +3 White Axe is equal to a +2 Blue Axe in terms of atk% bonus.

For a White weapon to have the equal refine bonus as a +4 Blue, it would have to be +6.

The Con of using Blue equipment, however, is that it costs 2x the materials to refine a Blue item compared to a White item. It progressively becomes more and more expensive to refine a Blue item. Most players opt to stay at +4 refine because refining to +5 has a chance to level down the item. Meaning, if you get a level down refining to +5, your item will go back to +3. White item users can risk a bit more because of the lowered material cost, however Blue item users will have to spend a lot more resources just to try.

The other con is that the accessories from Blue equipment only give raw stats, not specific bonuses like White Equipment. Most builds use White accessories because almost everyone would rather have more Haste or ASPD, instead of getting Dex or Agi from their slots. The Blue talismans provide 2 stats, but they have a limited number of combinations. For example, there is no Blue STR + DEX accessory, which is what Melee Haste builds need. Because of this, most players do not get the benefit of the 8 piece set bonus.

When should I pick Blue Equipment?

Here are the main considerations for using Blue equipment:

Do you like the set bonus(es) enough to warrant the time and effort needed to collect the materials?

Are you patient enough to collect and keep trying to get to +4 on your weapon? (Believe me, this is going to test your patience :P)

Do you think you are better off using a White weapon and attempting to +6 it?

Summary

Blue equipment is a step up from White in terms of their base stats and their refine bonus. If you’re a long term player and want to be above the F2P curve, going for Blue equipment is the best choice. You will be ahead of players that are using +4 White equipment. Not many players are going to risk going past +4 because of the risk and expense involved.

How do I get Gold Equipment?

Gold equipment are from MVP and Mini drops. They are very rare items, and as such, are very sought after and very expensive. They can be bought with Diamonds (the premium currency in RoX) on the Exchange Center but if the item you want is a popular item, be prepared to fight another player in a Bidding War. This is a mini-event where you have to bid to beat the price another player is willing to pay for the item. Another way to get Gold equipment is by rolling the Equipment Gacha using MVP or Mini coins. These are expensive as well, needing hundreds upon hundreds of coins with no guarantee of getting the item you want. Needless to say, if you want Gold Equipment, you have to be rich IRL or in-game.

Disclaimer: Unfortunately, I do not have any experience using Gold equipment so most of the information I list here are from second-hand accounts and observations made from whale-level players.

What makes Gold equipment unique?

Gold equipment enjoys x2.25 more refine bonus over White equipment. This fact alone is enough to warrant getting one if you’re interested in getting the best equipment in the game, but it doesn’t stop there! Each Gold weapon has an associated bonus effect from equipping it. You can think of it as a 1 piece set bonus. These effects are powerful and unique to each Gold weapon. Gold accessories can offer more stats over their White accessory counterparts, but their refine bonus multiplier makes them stronger. There are also other Gold accessories which offer unique effects that are not available in White or Blue accessories such as the CD Reduction refine bonus from the Lobster Dance Statue.

How do I make Gold equipment stronger?

Gold equipment also has Tier upgrades. They use MVP coins and Iron II as their materials. Tier I of a 1hand weapon requires 540 MVP coins, and Tier II requires 1080 MVP coins. Tiering up Gold equipment is crazy expensive.

Aside from that, refining and upgrades are available for Gold weapons too. Not much to say here because Gold equipment is already strong, even in their base forms.

What are the pros and cons of Gold equipment?

Gold equipment is the most powerful equipment you can use in RoX. They are the biggest reason players fight over MVPs: to get a chance at rare loot which can be used or sold to other players for a high price.

The con is that getting them involves a lot of topping up, a lot of luck, a lot of effort, or all of the above. Also, Gold equipment needs 4x the refine materials used by White equipment. Everything to do with Gold equipment just screams power through expensive means.

When should I pick Gold equipment?

If given the opportunity, you should definitely use Gold equipment, unless you have a specific 8 piece set bonus you want from White or Blue equipment.

While I painted quite a grim picture above, it is not impossible for F2P players to get Gold equipment. Players can buy up to 30k Diamonds every month, which they can save up and use to bid on Gold equipment later on when most whale-level players already have theirs and the prices have gone down. Alternatively, F2P players can try their luck in the gacha, buying up MVP and Mini coins using their Crystal currency.

Summary

Gold equipment is the best in terms of base stats and refine bonus. If you are a cash player and want the best equipment, this is what you should get. F2P and dolphins can dabble but it will be a very long and expensive road to get them powered up enough. Make sure you’re really enjoying the game before spending your money on these!

Final Thoughts

The Weapon color you choose will guide how you will be playing the game, so give it some thought before you finalize. Best advice I can give is to pick which one you think you will have the most fun with. Players have found success with all weapon colors, it's just a matter of how much effort you are willing to put in to make your equipment and character grow.
